Erik
Eric, also kown as the Phantom is the main character of the novel. He has physical deformity in his face and in the story he falls in love with Christine.
Christine Daaé
She's the main female protagonist, a female singer at the Opera who is in love with Raoul. The Phantom inspires her soul back to her voice and she starts singing amazingly.
Carlotta
She's another singer at the opera who's jealous of Christine, she's sabotaged by Erik on a performance.
The persian
He is a retired policeman who knows most of Erik's background story and explains it. He is considered Erik's friend.
Monsieur Moncharmin and Monsieur Richard
They are the new managers at the Opera House, at first they don't agree with The Phantoms demands but later they do.

Raoul de chagny
He is the Viscount of Chagny and Christine's childhood friend. After Raoul watches Christine's performance at the Opera years later, they fall in love and get engaged.
Philippe de Chagny
Raoul's older brother and owner of the family's wealth and estate.
M. Poligny and M. Debienne
The old managers of the Opera House.
Gabriel
He is the chorus master.

She's the lead ballet dancer at the opera.
Madame Giry (Mme. Giry)
She's the box keeper of the Opera.
Meg Giry
She's mme. Giry's daughter and a dancer.
